International Dot Day was this Monday! Learners wore dots and created illustrations to represent how they could leave their mark on the world.
This week is also Freedom Week. Learners have been reading about our government and using the program, iCivics to further their understanding of our rights and responsibilities. Today was Constitution Day! Learners discussed the three branches of government and how our government was formed. In groups, learners determined the role of each branch of government.
Along with Dot Day and our Freedom Week celebrations, we also had our first guidance lesson this week! In Daily 5 we are continuing to work with our first group of spelling words as well as work on writing. In Math, we have started to learn about the importance of rounding numbers and how to round numbers to the ten thousands place.
