This week was a great one! We celebrated the 100th day of school on Thursday. Learners completed a 100th Day of School menu in Daily 5. Some of the options they could choose from included writing about what they would be like when they were 100 and finding things in our classroom that measured to be around 100 centimeters. Learners also used their knowledge of coins in a money challenge and tried to find the area and perimeter of rectangles that would equal 100. We also used the Old Fart app to see what we would look like when we were 100!
Learners have also been working on identifying slow and rapid changes to the Earth in our How The World Works unit. Learners can tell you all about weathering and erosion and identify many different types of landforms as well as natural disasters!
In math, we have started talking about 2-D shapes. Today, we identified different types of quadrilaterals. Learners are also working on new spelling words. This week's sort focused on irregular plurals.
In Spanish, learners talked about Valentine's Day vocabulary. We also had a great time in library this week!
